Enrol yourself onboard a sailing ship!

There are about a dozen traditional sailing ships and a number of projects for renovation or rebuilding well under way. Altogether the fleet of our members includes about twenty ships. Some of them are privately owned, others are owned by organizations, foundations or companies.

During summer the ships sail chartered: holiday trips, school or training excursions etc. And of course the renovators of the ships also sail themselves. Many of the common events for ships take place in the summer months, like the Tall Ships' Race, annual meeting of ships on Baltic Sea, Skutmöte, or the traditional Sailing ship meeting in Helsinki every autumn.
Winter is spent on renovations in the dockyards, until the sea no longer is bound under the crust of ice, and the new sailing season is ready to begin. The ships traditionally sail out on 28.4.
There are several chances to participate - feel free to join in!

The National Board of Antiquities and Historical Monuments in Finland supports the maintenance of the ships, but mainly it rests on voluntary work and private fund-raising.

All ships sailing under the associations flag have been inspected, equipped and manned according to the safety rules of Finnish Maritime Administration.
